Masa


Masa means dough in Spanish. Here in America when we say Masa we are most often referring to “Masa de maiz” or corn masa. Masa is made from dried whole kernal corn which is ground into dough after being cooked in water with added lime. It’s a very simple and nutritious gluten-free product which is used to make many Mexican and Central American dishes such as corn tortillas, tamales, pupusas, and arepas. We are experts in making masa here at Landes Foods because our cooks have many years of experience in cooking the corn just right then grinding it to the perfect texture. We market our masa in both the food service and retail channels.
